Fic Idea List
Sep. 23rd, 2012 03:11 pmI sort of feel a plot explosion coming on with the Casefic that I'm working on. This would be good, as I've been a little stalled. But the ADD brain keeps coming up with ideas. Too many ideas.
1) Sometime last month, I was ambushed by a crossover Stargate/NCIS:LA idea. Whereupon for reasons that I can't yet explain, our LA team needs to be apprised of the existence of the Stargate. The concrete part of this idea thus far involves Sam trying to wrap his brain around this idea while simultaneously trying to deflect attention from G (whose brain is skittering around trying to figure out if he's freaked out or angry or what, which usually comes across as being wholly uncooperative) and rein in Kensi and Deeks who are both going "This is SO COOL". I don't know if this would actually go anywhere. It was just the image of Daniel Jackson trying to explain the Stargate to this crew that made me kind of laugh.
2) I'm still mulling over the idea of G being born female and how that would change things. I think in some ways, she would have had a more stable childhood than he did, because statistically speaking, girls tend to be more likely to be adopted or at least maybe not get tagged with some of the likely labels that G probably was. But in other ways, she'd be much more vulnerable.
3) This week, I got an idea of how I might have written parts of "Comes the Fall" last year. It wouldn't be a rewrite of that story, but rather a different story dealing with the same early S3 issues. This one might actually get written at some point.
4) I still have this idea that's been floating around for over a year for a Hawaii Five-0 story about what it was like for Steve to grow up in Hawai'i as someone who is native to Hawai'i, but not a Native Hawaiian. And how that influences how he interacts with people as a white man in Hawai'i versus how Danny interacts with people as a white man who grew up in the Mainland. This might actually get written as well, but it's going to require research and I have a pretty damn long reading list anyway and I haven't gotten around to doing the research.
5) I have no idea why I was even thinking about this, but for some reason, I was thinking about the last quarter of S2 of CSI:NY and how Danny was already under a lot of stress (the whole thing with his brother and the Tanglewood Boys), and then something horrible happens to one of the people he cares about (Stella), and then one of his best friends is killed (Aiden), and then right after that, his other best friend is seriously injured (Flack). Danny's already got a tendency to keep it all to himself and just implode. So, what did that summer look like for everyone? Probably was not a good time for anyone.
And I'm sure that premiere week will spark a thing or two (yay, it's premiere week!). But first, the Casefic. I am hopeful that I can at least get them to the next main plot point this week.
