Mom: Yeah, I know.
Me: And it's like, day 4 of the antibiotics and I'm still running a temperature. Shouldn't that go down by now?
Mom: Not necessarily. That's a pretty entrenched infection, I'm thinking. How high?
Me: 99.5
Mom: That's not actually a fever.
Me: I know. I'm like, seriously, body, is this the best you can do?
Mom: Your body? That probably is the best it can do!
Me: [sigh] yeah, I know.
Mom: Yeah, I know.
