Which should be pretty okay. I think only my aunt, uncle, and one cousin with her kids is coming. That is a manageable number of people and they are all people I actually like being with, so that will also help.

I have made my brownies and they look good. It's a new recipe- my cousin had to go dairy free for the time being because her youngest (who is 4.5 months, I think. I'm pretty sure he's 6 weeks older than my nephew JD and JD just hit three months this week) was having failure to thrive issues and it turned out he was allergic or intolerant to dairy and therefore since my cousin was eating things with dairy in them and then breastfeeding, he wasn't processing what he was eating well. So, she's gone dairy free at least until they're done with the breastfeeding and he's become a very happy kid who's mostly caught up, growth wise (he was nearly 10 pounds to start with, and he was growing, just very slowly). And then her mom went dairy free in solidarity and discovered she felt much better (she is lactose intolerant, but never seemed to have issues with baked things, butter, cheese and the like), so she's probably going to stay dairy free.

My parents and I aren't dairy free- cheese is, like, the third most used ingredient in both of our homes, right behind peanut butter and bread- although my mom is mildly lactose intolerant (can't drink milk or eat ice cream, but cheese and butter are fine) and neither of them drink cow's milk anymore (Dad discovered almond milk has fewer carbs and he likes it). I do drink cow's milk, because I cannot stand either soy milk or almond milk, but I'm also not lactose intolerant in the least and I'm also not allergic to casein (it's in the standard battery of allergy tests, so verified). So I see no need to not eat dairy. But, I will do what I can to make other people comfortable in my parents' house, so I found a dairy free brownie recipe (my usual one uses butter, which is a no-go).

I am also making potato bites and will be making half with cheese and half without. But there will be bacon on both sets. But that's better made the same day you eat it, so I'll steam the potatoes here and then prep them for the broiler and take them to Mom's to finish off.

And my aunt, who's a certified Healing Touch practitioner, is going to look at my head/neck/shoulders and see if she can poke things around into some sort of semblance of not quite so tense all the time. Not much else is working and there's only so much stretching I can do at the moment because bending forward or to the side is a recipe for me losing my balance and toppling over (effects of the sinus/ear infections. I have crappy equilibrium to begin with and it's even worse when I'm sick). She's worked on my mom before and really helped her with her knee pain. I'm at least mildly skeptical of a lot of alternative therapies, but this one has actual scientific studies on it, and is regulated and requires training and licensing and all sorts of things, so I'm fairly comfortable with it. Plus, it's my aunt, and I'm fairly sure she's not going to deliberately harm me.
