Not so bad as all that
Nov. 30th, 2014 06:59 pmEven with being at my parents' pretty much all day yesterday and being totally worn out today, I still managed to do some things. Other than watch Haven, which was an agenda item for the day.
- Did a round of dishes
- Cleaned the sink and got the drains cleaned because they were getting musty (hot water and a bit of vinegar generally does the trick. Ice cubes and orange peels in the garbage disposal is also not a bad idea)
- Cleaned the water dispenser container and ran some vinegar though it. It's not a filter container- our tap water is fine. I just like my water cold and have a tendency to forget to refill the ice cube trays.
- Baked eggs for burritos. I still need to roll those, but it doesn't take long
- Discovered that I was a smart person at the grocery store and purchased frozen bread products so I could unfreeze them in the oven and have rolls for lunch for the week
- Hard boiled eggs
- Cleaned up the counter
And then I sorted out the money situation, which I sort of kind of screwed up a little on last month. A couple things cost more than I thought they would and I flaked out on entering anything in to the budget program and then sort of forgot to pay attention. However, I never overdrew the bank account and while the credit card balance is going to have to float for a little bit, the bills all got paid (mostly they're on auto pay, except the water and the electric, which will be going on auto pay Real Soon Now because I keep forgetting about them). December isn't a great month for getting fully back on track, since I do buy Christmas presents for my family and my car insurance is due this month, but I'll do what I can. If nothing else, I'll get my tax refund in February and that should be plenty enough to catch me up if I haven't managed to do so by then (I know. I know. But I spent so many years being under the poverty line that I'm paranoid about not paying enough in withholding and having to pay in April, so I don't take all my exemptions. I'll keep moving them up a little at a time until the refund mostly disappears. I just feel safer that way).
So, the goal for this week is 10 minutes of house work every day. And to get the laundry under control because I've lost track of clean vs. dirty again. And to enter expenses because, yeah. There's an app on the phone for that and I should, like, use it.
