...98% of my coworkers took the day off. And since my job is basically dependent on coworkers having things that need doing (not entirely, but roughly 75% of my day to day stuff at the moment is directly related to tasks delegated to me. It'll be more 50-50 or 40-60 once we get our new team member on board in mid January and I can stop running after salespeople (figuratively speaking)), this means I have basically nothing to do today. And so I am "working remotely" this afternoon. Which is basically boiling down to being logged into my work laptop and jiggling the mouse every so often to see if I've gotten any email. So far the only email I've gotten since about 10:30 this morning is an automated notification that a file from one of our vendors has been uploaded to one of our systems, which is not anything I need to do anything with (actually, I should probably start routing those emails to the trash- they're a hold over from a procedure that's since changed and I don't even have system access anymore because I don't need it).
In actuality, I'm doing laundry and baking bread for tomorrow's dinner. Oh, and hunting down the scotch tape and discovering that I bought extremely crappy wrapping paper. The winter themed paper I bought for my brother and SIL's gifts was fine (they aren't so much into Christmas, although they told me they're going to start celebrating both Hanukah and Christmas next year with the baby- SIL's father's family is Jewish and she grew up with both, so it does actually make sense. But I usually find something winter/blue/silver for their gifts). It's the Christmas themed paper that totally sucks. I am not going to get more, though, so we'll live with it for today.
I get to log off officially at 3, though. And then once the laundry for tonight is finished and the bread is out of the bread machine, I can go nap for tonight, because I'll be up long past bedtime.
