I now own a food processor. After complaining that I didn't have one the other week on Facebook. I'm pretty thrilled about this. Mom also got me a set of moosgus (most people call them rubber spatulas, I think. However, my great-grandma never could remember the English word for them, and so she called them moosgus. I don't think that's remotely close to the Polish word- I think she just made it up- but they shall forever be called moosgus in my family). Which is also great, because I've been thinking every week that I need to get a couple more and hadn't gotten around to it yet (I like the silicone ones better than wooden spoons because wooden spoons are a pain in the ass to keep clean).
I had a total meltdown when my brother and SIL started the video chat before I got to my parents' house- we had a time miscommunication. Apparently someone was doing time zone conversions before coffee and told my mom 12:30 when he meant 11:30. And when he sent the "we're setting up" text to my mom, my mom texted him to say that I wasn't there yet and wouldn't be there for about 20 more minutes, but he missed that text. So he opened the gChat video while I was still a good 10-15 minutes away. I got there at 12 (which was the time Mom, Dad and I had agreed I'd be over last night, for the record), and was crying because I thought I'd fucked up on the time (he'd added me to the gChat, so it rang on my phone, but I couldn't answer it because I was driving, which is how I knew they'd already gotten started). But, once Mom told me that no, I hadn't fucked up and everything was fine, I did calm down. It's not Christmas without a meltdown, right? :/
But other than that, it was a good day. Although, I'm really glad it's over.
