- And so the plot thickens with the sinus investigating. My asthma doc (who is an allergist, as opposed to a pulmonologist, so he has immunology training) got the note the ENT sent to him about what's going on and asking if he ever did any immune system testing on me. Apparently in the thirty years of records he has on me (I'm not joking. He's been my asthma doc since he diagnosed me in 1984) there is a record of an immune panel, but it's "a very, very long time ago" and he thinks we should repeat it. Apparently, one of the ways they do this is making me get a pneumonia vaccine, wait three weeks and then get a titer on that. And also some other tests? I haven't seen the orders yet- the nurse called me and told me they were going to mail me the blood work slip. I'm kind of like, yeah, okay, whatever you say, because I do literally trust this doctor with my life, but I'm a bit confused. I emailed my mom (Mom teaches in the evenings/night. It's essentially 2nd shift, so I can't just call her after I get off work) to get her perspective on this, so I'll see what she says. (Mom is a nurse. She knows things).

- I did, however, get a follow up appointment with the ENT for the 19th. First available appointment, but really 2-ish weeks is pretty good for getting in with a specialist. I won't have the blood work back by then, because even if I get the pneumonia shot tomorrow (which is not likely. Thursday is probably my earliest possibility, unless I could go at lunch. I have to investigate that possibility), I couldn't get the blood work done until the 25th.

- And I have an appointment with my primary care doc on the 16th. The idea was that I'd go there to get the pneumonia shot, but I really don't want to be in limbo for 5 weeks. Plus, chances are good I'd lose the blood work slip or lose track of what I'm supposed to be doing or whatever by then. I need to see that doctor anyway, because I need refills on a couple of my meds and also my 6 month blood work (due to risk factors, I get blood work done twice a year to keep an eye on my fasting blood sugar and cholesterol). So, it's all good.

- This is all really exhausting.
