- I did get a bunch of new clothes, which is cool. I'm transitioning to wearing mostly skirts and dresses to work. I realized I hated pretty much all of my dress pants and buying new pants is really a pain in the ass and I also noticed I was just more comfortable sitting all day in skirts. So, I bought several dresses and some new tops and cardigans, which is my favorite sweater style. Particularly since my cube is right under a malfunctioning heating vent- the sensor attached to the vent is apparently in an non-insulated pocket in the wall next to the window, so it's reading the outdoor temperature and not the indoor temperature. So the vent dumps heat all day because it's fucking cold outside. Meanwhile, I'm sweating because it's roughly 85F/29C where I'm sitting. But if I have a meeting in any of the conference rooms or need to go sit in someone else's cube for awhile to work on a project, I'm freezing, because the office in general is somewhat chilly. And if they don't fix the sensor, I have a feeling that I will be an ice cube all summer because the reverse will happen. So, layers are my friend.
- I really need to find some skirts, though. And/or a tailor to shorten a few skirts that I have that are just too long. There's this trend for mid-calf skirts right now and they just don't work on me. They make me look short and dumpy. And while there's nothing on this Earth that's going to make me look thin, I don't need to look dumpy. Knee length is perfect, so I just need to find a tailor to do some shortening (it's more than just putting in a hem because the skirts aren't straight, or I'd do it myself).
