- I may have a work-around for going out in the cold. It occurred to me last night that ski masks are a thing and some poking around showed good outcomes for people with asthma wearing masks out in the cold. So I asked my mom to stop by REI to see if she could find one for me. She was able to find a neck gaiter that stretches up over your face and that plus my scarf made a trip to the store do-able. I did order an actual ski mask with ventilation (the kind that just goes over the bottom half of your face. I can't do the full balaclava thing- Mom bought one of those too and that was too panic inducing. I do not like things covering my mouth and nose At All) because I think that will fit better and also maybe keep my glasses from fogging up. If this is going to be the new winter normal, then I'm going to have to adapt a bit. But the store involves about as much time as I need to spend outside to go to work, so if I can manage the store, I can get to and from work.
- It may have been placebo effect, but I found half a bottle of my old Omega 3 pills (it has vitamin D in it as well, which required a little fiddling to get the right amount of D, which I suspect that may have been a contributing factor to swapping pills. I can't remember now). And one last night and one this morning and the headache over my left eye did not show up until late this afternoon. I'll take it, even if it is placebo.
- Oh, hell, I forgot tea.
- But I did find calcium supplements without vitamin D (I know, Vitamin D helps absorb calcium. I'm already taking 4000 IU of it, thanks. I really don't need more and it's fat soluble, so it's possible to have too much) and magnesium supplements. I think the magnesium supplement also has potassium, which probably won't hurt any.
