- So glad this week is almost over.

- I was supposed to get the blood work for the immune system testing done today, but I forgot the lab slip. I have not lost the lab slip, however, which is something of a triumph, even if I forgot to take it off the fridge and put it in my bag this morning. Hang on, I am actually going to go do that right now while I am thinking about it.

-Okay, lab slip is in my bag.

- Purim Gifts fic 2 is just about finished. It needs a wrap up, but nothing was coming for me and it's almost bedtime anyway.

- So far, the surgery center has not called me to tell me they need any blood work or exam or anything for the surgery. I'm mildly surprised- I remember the blood work from the first surgery, vividly. It was many, many tubes and I nearly passed out (pretty sure it was fasting blood work. I tend to pass out for those. If I've eaten, I usually do better). But I guess they could still call next week. Probably their main concern is pulmonary functions and I've got a recent set of those that I know the ENT office was going to get their hands on (my allergist is part of the ENT practice now, so it's making some things really, really easy, because I don't have to do any paperwork or leg work to authorize record sharing or anything). So they may not need me to do anything. That would be nice.

- I did remember to send the doctor's office my short term disability paperwork. Apparently the policy at work is that I need to use vacation/sick time for the first 8 calendar days I miss work (it'll only be 6 working days in my case), but the rest of the time I'm out will be covered by short term disability. The doctor is certifying me for two full weeks after surgery, so I won't officially need to go back to work until March 24th if I'm not ready. I want to plan for missing two weeks and then go back earlier if I'm up to it, instead of planning for only a week and then needing to scramble to have people cover things if I'm really not up for working. A lot of what I've read says most people are ready to go back to work within 4-5 days, but I know I heal a little slower than average (mostly because of the steroids for my asthma) and it's not like I'm going into this with a ton of reserves to begin with.

-gah. Sleep. I hate insomnia.
