So, my plan to go to bed early last night was only semi-successful. I managed to fall asleep by 9, which is good (that's my normal bedtime, so good job there). Then, around 10pm, my aunt and cousin decided to have a conversation on a group text that I was on. Which woke me up and it took me two and a half hours to fall back asleep. I have now found the blocking feature on my cell phone, so from 9pm to 6 am, I won't hear any texts or calls except from my mom, my dad, my brother and my best friend, who are pretty much the only people who are allowed to contact me at any time of day (they also all know better than to try to engage me in conversation after 8pm unless it's an emergency).
I spent most of the morning just cleaning up and getting stuff ready to go back to work tomorrow. I cleaned up my work email (and wrote a guide to dealing with overwhelming amounts of email). I made some more breakfast burritos and hardboiled eggs. My mom came over and helped me clean the bathrooms (there was no way I was going to manage cleaning the tub. Too much bending over). I finished some laundry. Just odds and ends to make the rest of the week easier.
Tomorrow, I go to work for the first time in two and a half weeks. I think I'm pretty much ready. I'll only be there until 2, because I have my second post-op appointment in the afternoon. So, not a whole day and I can come home after the doctor and crash. I am not planning on doing much after work for this week at least. Next week, I have church things every night and I'm also cat-sitting for my parents until Thursday (they're going to see my brother's family), so that will be a little busier. But I'm only working Monday-Thursday next week (Friday is a holiday. I mean, it actually is a holy day for me, and I was taking it off as a vacation day anyway, but don't get me started on the fact that the NYSE is closed for Good Friday and therefore we get it as a bank holiday, because that is so immensely Christian-centric that it makes me want to send copies of the First Amendment to, like, everyone, and point out that this is essentially establishment of religion) and actually, the week after, I'm only working Tuesday-Friday (I already had Monday scheduled off so I could get some sleep after the holiday, because it's pretty intense). So I won't be working a full week for the next three weeks. Which is probably not an awful thing.
