I made it through the first abbreviated week of work. Today was pretty rough, I will not lie. But the third day is always the hardest day of anything. But I have caught up on everything that didn't get addressed while I was out (and my coworkers did a fabulous job of taking care of my everyday stuff while I was gone, so that list was much shorter than it could have been. I need to bake them all something over the weekend, but apparently there's been a lot of food lately, so I'll have to come up with something really good). This means I can get back into project stuff next week and there's a couple new ones on the list, so it'll be good to start digging back in. Although, my brain is still a little molasses-slow.

I also talked with my allergist's office today about the immune system blood work. It's a little nebulous- she did say that the IgA and IgM immunoglobins (there are different parts to the immune system and they each have their own chemicals called immunoglobins) are normal, which is good, since IgA plays a part in the most common immune system disorders. But something she said made me think that there's something wrong in the IgG subclass testing. She said something about if we were trying to get me on some treatment that I didn't recognize and I said that I had no idea what we're doing here, that the doctor got a note from my ENT and decided to do bloodwork. So she said she was going to talk to the doctor and call me back. I was in a meeting when she called back, but her message said that he wants to see me for my 6 month appointment and the earliest she could fit me in was April 7th and if that was fine, they'd just see me then. But then she called back 5 minutes later and said, whoops, I didn't see you already had an appointment scheduled for April 27th (my 6 month appointment that I already had scheduled), so just keep that appointment instead of the 7th.

So, if something is wrong, then it's clearly not life threatening or a huge thing, because they wouldn't have been okay with waiting a month to see me. They would have found a way to get me in, like, next week or kept the appointment on the 7th instead of waiting three weeks longer. So I'm not super concerned- curious, but not concerned. It's also possible that the bloodwork is all completely normal and my doctor was just like, hey I haven't seen her since September, so she's due. And/or he's curious about how the surgery went and wants to see the results for himself, because I know the ENT has been sending him updates. And, anyway, I looked up IgG subclass deficiencies and apparently they're not uncommon and they don't always treat them directly because treatment can be expensive and not always effective. They generally just treat the infections that arise, which is what we've been doing with me since I was 9 months old, so nothing new there.
