Hello from Exhaustion Central.

It thunderstormed all week. This made my face really, really unhappy. It also kept starting to storm as soon as I turned out the light and tried to go to sleep, with lots and lots of lightening. I can sleep through thunder if it's the rumbly kind and not the giant cracking, the storm is right overhead kind. Lightning, though, will keep me awake, particularly if I can't comfortably keep my eyes covered (sometimes I can't sleep facing away from the window. What side I can sleep on is a variable and non-predictable thing).

So, that, plus the fact that for some reason my Restless Legs Syndrome decided to be seriously obnoxious the past couple of days (like, seriously twitchy, can't get comfortable), means I slept like shit all week. Not helpful after having not slept much last weekend. Or with still getting tired too easily.

(that part is getting better though- I'm not hitting a wall mid-morning or just after lunch anymore. I still feel like putting my head down and taking a nap two out of three afternoons, but it's less of a feeling, if that makes sense)

I suspect part of the sleeping issue is the fact that I really, really need a new mattress and it's just reached the point where it's causing noticeable issues. To that end, I bought a new mattress after work today. It won't be delivered until next Saturday (I really, really can't take time off to deal with delivery this month. I have three doctor's appointments over the next three weeks which basically eat all my leeway for being away without taking an actual vacation day. And it's the beginning of the quarter, which is a busy time. No one's got a problem with me taking time away to deal with doctor's stuff, but taking a day to deal with a mattress delivery would kind of be poor form with everything else I've got going on). But maybe knowing that it's only another week will help.
