A1C came back at 5.5, which is normal and also just under the pre-diabetic range, apparently (according to the Mayo Clinic site- all my lab report said was under 6 is normal). Apparently my blood sugar averages somewhere around 115ish, which I know would be seriously great for someone who's diabetic, but I suspect my personal reference ranges may be a bit skewed on what that means for someone non-diabetic.
What I don't know is whether this signifies that yes, there is a minor insulin resistance issue at this point or, no, I'm not there (yet). I mean, I'm super glad it's normal- I didn't think it was going to come back high enough to be seriously concerning, but I did think there was a good possibility that it was going to hit the pre-diabetic range.
If it is a problem, I know my doctor will probably call on Tuesday. She also usually posts some color commentary to the lab reports, which might be informative. But until that point, guess I just keep on keeping on?
