Nov. 13th, 2015 07:30 pm...And we've officially reached prednisone stage of bronchial irritation. I actually feel fine, if still a bit more tired than usual. But if I walk "too fast" or "too far" (note, neither of these things are actually fast or far), I start coughing or my chest tightens up. And I am much too aware of my bronchial tubes at the moment. I prefer to not feel them.
So I was a good girl and called the doctor's office, which earned me a script for prednisone in what was quite possibly record time. I suspect the nurse got as far as my name and bronchitis and that was all she needed to say (this doctor has been my doctor since I was 4 years old. He knows full well that if I'm calling, there's an actual issue). I've only glanced at the info sheet, but it appears that it's at least a week of it. I've got to map it out, because it's a bunch of numbers and do this and then do this and then, etc. Which means we're starting out high enough that it needs to taper (if it was just 20 mg a day for five days, you don't need to taper that. Or at least I don't).
Oh well, maybe I'll get lucky and be in get shit done mode all weekend. That would be nice. I'm having trouble with food right now- anything tomato based or even slightly spicy is tearing up my stomach, and of course everything I have in the freezer is at least one of those things. So, I made chicken for chicken casserole, which is pretty bland and I have another pack of chicken in the freezer that I can make chicken and rice with. I might make some more beef and broccoli, because that was pretty good. And I don't know what else. Mac and Cheese maybe. I am sincerely hoping that a week or two of stronger antacids will bring back my ability to eat chili. Probably.
