Today was the last dose of prednisone, thank God. I am breathing better, so it was worth it, but not fun. Things got somewhat better after Monday, which was the last day of the mega, twice a day, dose. It was easier to sleep when I was only doing once a day (and for obvious reasons, I was taking it in the morning, not at bedtime). However, I built up enough of a sleep debt by not sleeping for the 4 days before that point that I'm still not terrifically functional.

Fortunately, there is not a whole lot that absolutely must get done this weekend. And most of it I've managed to accomplish while watching the Ohio State game- chicken is cooked, bread is baked, laundry is in progress, rice is in the rice cooker (and taking for-fucking-ever to cook today. Which is annoying). Also, the car's gotten its 20,000 service and I've been to the grocery. It was good that I didn't figure out today is the Saturday before Thanksgiving until I was getting ready to check out, because I would not have gone to the store. Which would have been okay, sorta, but I would have to get creative and I really don't have the energy to do that.

Also, I needed cortisone cream. You would think that the prednisone would have cleared up the eczema on my hands while it was at it, but no. No, it did not. Might have kept it from getting worse. Hard to tell. My knuckles look better since putting that on earlier and the really bad patches between my fingers at least stopped hurting. Probably going to need to put some sort of scrub together (I have at least two boxes of "expired" saline/bicarb packets. They're fine enough to not be overly irritating but gritty enough to do some good. I have a hard time figuring that they're no good for sinus rinsing any longer- last I checked, salt didn't really go bad- but since I have this alternate use for them, I'm kind of eh about it). This would be much easier if I didn't have substantial sensory issues with lotion/cream. The only reason it gets as bad as it does is that I can't stand to put as much lotion on as would keep it from flaring up. Also, I should probably dig out the gloves for outside at this point.

So, yeah. I am very tired. I am also pretty glad that this week is going to be a short week- Thanksgiving is Thursday, so the office will be closed and then I took Friday off, because this is my third Thanksgiving at this job and I've come in the day after Thanksgiving for the past two years (traditionally, the only people who work the Friday after Thanksgiving in a non-essential job are the people with less seniority. I actually have seniority over everyone except one person on my team, so I decided to use that this year. Not that it really matters, because my job is completely unrelated to everyone else on my team, so it's not like anyone has to cover my stuff. And also not like anyone who generally needs my services is going to be in the office either). I'll be over at Mom and Dad's for part of Thursday, but probably won't go anyplace on Friday (I refuse to set foot in any place of retail on the day after Thanksgiving). Saturday will be Family Thanksgiving, but then I'll have Sunday to recoup.
