What makes this easier?
Mar. 17th, 2016 08:50 pmI redid my budget (and included all my student loans in the tracking area. Um. Thank God for Income Based Repayment. They made me a little dizzy)
So now, I have the things that come out of auto pay, the things that don't happen every month, but need to be saved for every month if I don't want to hate myself when the bill comes due, a contingency category for when I inevitably fuck something up, and an every day spending category that is not specified. I'm just going to dump everything in that category and not worry about splitting up receipts when I buy meds and groceries at the same time or whatever. That category mostly gets paid with my credit card, so it can float a little bit if I can't cover the whole thing on payday (I should be able to, mostly).
Also, I've determined that I can probably afford to buy lunch on weekdays if I also don't buy things to make lunch with at the grocery store. And since I am exhausted and tired of spending half the weekend cooking so I can have lunches for the week, this is what I'm going to do for at least awhile. It'll be easier once we move to the new building, which has a cafeteria. Plus, it makes me walk away from my desk. Which is a thing I should do more often anyway.
The strategy brain is on now. And it should only be another two weeks of really super intense. We'll be dealing with the aftermath for a year, but that will not require me to work from 7:30 am to 6 pm (or later) most days of the week. So, there is the possibility that I can dig myself out of this hole. Right.
