 Dentist appointment went reasonably well. I flat out told the hygienist that I'd been having issues the past few months and keeping up with good oral hygiene had not exactly been high on my list of priorities. She was understanding and that helped. Apparently, I'd been doing at least enough to keep out of any actual cavities, but there's a couple weak spots, so she gave me prescription fluoride paste to keep them from getting any worse. I can live with that. 

My mouth is still uncomfortable, though, and my jaw has been clicking and crackling all afternoon, but eh. Only so much that can be done about that- it plain doesn't open wide enough and my mouth is just too small.

Right there with ya on the doesn't open wide enough. I had to have two adult teeth removed in adolescence because there wasn't going to be enough room. I build up tartar like whoa so I'm very grateful for having strong teeth and an uncle who is a dentist so his practice charges my insurance for the allowed two cleanings per year and then gives me another two for free. If it weren't for them, I'm sure my teeth would be a wreck.

My actual teeth are *tiny*- on the bottom, when I had braces in high school, there was only one pediatric bracket on every other tooth and all you could see was metal. So, I got lucky on the crowding issues. Spreading my lower jaw out, though, in an attempt to fix my bite, meant that my wisdom teeth had to come out. We were expecting there to be enough room after my 12 year old molars, but everything shifted enough that the wisdom teeth were trying to come in sideways and upside down. Which was very ineffective on their part. And I still have a massive overbite that's probably now about as bad as it was when we started the orthodontic work when I was 8. I wouldn't care, but the weight of my upper jaw and skull is forcing my front bottom teeth backwards. I suspect 2016 might be the Year of Fixing My Jaw, Again, if I can figure out what my insurance will cover for adult orthodontics.
