Mar. 26th, 2018 09:17 pmSo, my luck may have run out on this awful flu season.
I am shivery, kind of achy, definitely headachy, and my throat is considering hurting (it's just on the edge of being sore). Last I checked, my temperature was in the high 98s, which is still normal, but my immune system doesn't have a good fever response and my body temperature runs low, so we count anything from 99 as an Actual Facts fever. It was at 99.4 at one point this afternoon, but I'd just gotten home and had been in the car with the heat on and a jacket, so I don't know how accurate that was. One of my coworkers went home sick on Friday with similar symptoms and she was still out today, which is why I think flu as opposed to allergies. Plus, allergies don't make me cold.
I 100% do NOT need this right now. I have several things that I need to have completely by Thursday at the latest and more like Wednesday, end of day, because I'm supposed to be off on Thursday. Easter is Sunday, which means I'm in church for about 15 hours between Thursday evening and Saturday night. I'm supposed to have therapy tomorrow, PT on Wednesday, and acupuncture on Thursday (and was supposed to have PT today, but cancelled). I'm supposed to get my TSA pre-check interview on Thursday. I do not have time to be out of commission for 5+ days.
At this point, I'm going to bed and hoping I feel better when I wake up (I took a nap earlier and that didn't seem to do it). So far, I'm not coughing (although I feel like it took a day or two for that to start the time before), and if the flu shot holds up, prior experience suggests that should mitigate things enough for me to be safe enough on the breathing front. I'll call the doctor tomorrow if I feel much worse than I do now. Otherwise, it's not like I'm unaware of how to hydrate and sleep, and if it's not bad enough for antivirals, then it's not worth the trip over there.
