miss_lucy21There is a non-zero chance that our cat doesn't wake up tomorrow.
I would say it's about a 50% chance that he doesn't make it to Monday.
And an at least 90% chance that if he makes it to Monday, he will not come home from the vet appointment.
If it's not now, it is very, very soon.
I am a lot more upset than I expected.
i went to say goodbye tonight, just in case. I really wanted to hold him and just love on him, but he was all curled up in his basket and I just couldn't fathom disturbing him just to make me feel better. So, scritiches and a fair number of hand licks. We'll see what happens. I'm off work Monday- Mom said I didn't have to come to the vet with her, that she'd be fine, but I also don't want her to have to do this alone. But I might be too upset to be useful- she wasn't crying until I did. Selfishly, I almost want him to go in his sleep tonight or tomorrow, so we don't have to make the choice (well, the choice is already made. I don't see any reasonable scenario at the moment where the vet doesn't say it's time on Monday). I don't know. I guess we'll see.
