I have the most annoying cold. I started getting sick the day after Christmas and got progressively worse through New Year's Day. Started feeling better-ish on the 2nd. My ears then decided to clog up and I can't really hear out my right ear at the moment and there have been moments where I was concerned my eardrum was going to burst, judging by the pain. Yesterday, I went to say something and could not produce sound. Not, sounded really raspy, but sort of audible, could not produce sound. Today I can whisper and sometimes be more audible, but it's not consistent. Oddly enough, my throat doesn't hurt at the moment. My ears seem to be loosening up, but the pressure comes and goes. Sometimes I'll think they're ready to start draining and then I move and, no. Oh, and it's gone to my chest because everything does, which has led to a couple of really spectacular coughing fits.

(yes, I have seen a doctor. Nothing was infected on Friday, lungs were clear despite a slight wheeze. That's probably irritation related, given that my pulse ox was 99, so nothing's blocked. Just cranky. I have my semiannual appointment with my asthma doc on Wednesday, so if I'm not significantly better, I am sure he will Do Something. If I'm lucky, he'll start with the antibiotics and not the prednisone. I hate prednisone.)

Needless to say, 2019 is not off to a promising start....

Thank you- I'm doing better today and got another confirmation that nothing's infected, it's just taking a long time to get better.
