NaNo #18: Stupid Cold (SG-1)

"What the..." Daniel said as he stepped outside for the first time in a week. "When did it get so cold?" he asked wrapping his arms around himself. It had been 70 degrees when he'd last been outside the Mountain. It was currently about 25 degrees.

"Two days ago," Sam said, shaking her head. "See what happens when you're underground for a week?"

"Ugh," Daniel said. "I hate winter."

"Not winter yet," Sam said. "It's still only November." Daniel just glared at her, which made her laugh. "Come on," she said, looping her arm through his and tugging him along to her car. "I'll make you hot chocolate while we wait for the food to come. Then you can warm up, eat, and sleep someplace that's not your desk."

"I guess," Daniel said, letting her drag him to her car. "But I'd still be warm if I stayed inside."

"Hot chocolate, Daniel," Sam said. "I'll even make it with the Mexican chocolate."

"Chili powder?" he asked.

"Yeah, ok," Sam said, rolling her eyes. "Chili powder too."

"Hmm. Ok, I guess that'd be better than commissary coffee," he said, getting into Sam's car.

"It'd better be!" Sam laughed. She started the car and drove towards the gates.
