Argelfargel. I tried to sew two panels of the skirt I'm making together today and totally screwed it up. I think it will be fine if I rip out the seam- I don't think it'll show- but it's all fiddly stuff and yeah, not a fan.
And then I got a new phone today that is technically an upgrade, but is actually a downgrade, because I've been using a rooted Android phone. I just popped the SIM card from my old phone into it when I bought it secondhand. But it's ancient and starting to not function well, and I was eligible for a phone upgrade on my plan, so I went ahead and did the upgrade. But I had to get a non-smartphone because technically I've been sort of cheating and using the Droid on a non-smartphone data plan. I did not know this until very recently- we thought a data plan was a data plan when we added the unlimited data to our family plan last year. So, at least now I'm using a legal phone, and I'm pretty sure I'm not going to miss most of the functionality; I didn't use many apps regularly, other than the GPS. But...they sent a new SIM card, which I got activated, but it doesn't have my contacts on it. I tried saving the contacts to my SD card in the Droid and moving the SD card to the new phone, but they wouldn't load. So I'm going to have to take the old SIM card and the new one over to the store and see if they can transfer them (I'm told this is possible). So, at the moment, I have a functional phone that I can't actually call/text anyone on because I don't know anyone's phone number. Well, no. I can call my mom, because I made her call me to make sure the phone was working. But she's sitting across the room from me, so yeah, not necessary to communicate via phone. But I ordered the damn thing online so I would not have to go deal with people at the store, so this makes me less than thrilled.
I did, however, find the perfect dinner roll recipe today. I've been trying to find one that comes close to the Bob Evans' dinner rolls and this one is pretty damn close. I thought the one I used for Thanksgiving and Christmas was pretty good, but this one was better. And I'm getting closer to my goal of watching at least one event from each sport/game in the Olympics. I think the only things I'm missing at this point are sports that haven't started yet, like Rhythmic Gymnastics. But these athletes, man, they are just amazing. So, not a totally bad day.
