NCIS: Los Angeles 3.17 Blye, K, part 2
Feb. 29th, 2012 12:56 pm- Ah-ha! I was wondering when Kensi's mother was going to come up. Interesting.
- I certainly hope Granger didn't expect that G and Sam weren't going to listen into his conversation with Hetty. Because *that* wasn't happening and Hetty knew better to expect it.
- Oh, this is tripping all of Sam's morality buttons. G hopes she won't kill someone, but he won't really be that disturbed if she does, and the part that will bother him is whether she'd be arrested or something that would take her away, not that she actually killed the person who killed her father. Sam thinks revenge is morally wrong and wants Kensi to agree with that position and not seek revenge. This is probably the biggest difference between the two of them.
- Deeks, honey, you need to have a chat with Sam about dealing with lone wolf partners. If nothing else, he's the one to commiserate with.
- Raise your hand if you were surprised that Sam is better with being polite in awkward situations than G or Deeks. No? Yeah, me either.
- Daniela Ruah did a pretty good job of maintaining that busted rib posture. Realism (or quasi-realism- I've never busted a rib, so I don't know how active you'd really be) is good.
- Huh. Well, that shootout was not how I expected that conversation to end. Did not expect *that* trap.
- Ok, so Kensi's been with NCIS since 2006. My question is now whether she's been with OSP that whole time. I did not have the impression she'd been there as long as that- I'd been figuring a year or so prior to the beginning of the show in 2009. (2006 appears to be a big year for the team in terms of recruitment- I'm pretty sure G also joined NCIS in 2006).
- G is now going to call Granger "sir" in the least respectful way possible from now until the end of time.
- Good reflexes, Granger. And that will definitely ingratiate you with these folks, which you're going to need if you're going to be sticking around (and yay for more Granger and Hetty!)
- I am really very glad that someone on either NCIS show got some closure to their trauma. And it was good closure, too, not the kind that hurts even more. Kensi didn't like some of the answers she got, but in the end, her view of her father was more or less still intact. Her dad was a good guy. He did love her very much. And she has a chance to reconcile with her mother, who looks completely overjoyed in the best way to have the opportunity. Happy endings are good once in awhile, y'know?

Date: 2012-02-29 07:04 pm (UTC)Uncle Owen indeed got the kids to hate him a little less by shooting that bastard. (He started right by coming with them, and then he landed that shot and had the "What?" face.) And that particular way in which G says "Sir" is kinda hilarious, and will actually made for a good running gag, I think.
And yes, it was generally nice and refreshing on top that Kensi got good closure on this, instead of even more angst. And a mother who lives in town is interesting - that makes her the only person on this show with known ties to the biological family, and to top that her mom more-or-less knows what she's doing. It's a nice break, and it opens the door for a lot of future plot.
