Things, serious and less so

miss_lucy211. The shooting in Aurora, CO is breaking my heart. Anytime something like this happens, I am just so sad and so angry and so frustrated that we don't seem to be able to solve these things. I am immensely grateful that my brother's best friend, who lives in Denver, was at a different theater. I am also grateful that if my brother and SIL had gone down to see the movie with their friend, they would have been safe (it's his friend's birthday, and they were invited to go, but they had to work today). I am praying for the victims and their families and for the safety of the law enforcement officers who are involved in attempting to dismantle the bombs the shooter booby trapped his apartment with.
2. In addition to the shooting (which has dominated many of my internet spaces today, both because it is a tragedy and because I am friends with many comic book/superhero geeks who were mostly intensely shocked and appalled), I got the following pieces of email today: 2 notices that I did not get jobs I applied for and a denial from a health insurance company that I'd applied for individual coverage with. I am too tired to go into my rant about health insurance this evening, or I would have much more to say about that (I am disappointed, but not terribly surprised about the jobs. One I was ridiculously overqualified for and one was a federal job and therefore highly competitive). So, yeah, today was not a good day.
3. Peanut butter continues to be the solution to all minor problems. I attempted to move the yoga to before bedtime instead of first thing in the morning yesterday, but that did NOT work. It was worse than the mango experiment. So, this morning, I got up, went down and ate a spoonful of peanut butter, came back upstairs (where the yoga mat is- if it's anywhere other than my room, the cat will claim it for his own, and I'd prefer to not do my yoga on a mat covered in cat hair), and did my yoga and it worked out fairly well. I can live with that as a plan.
