NCIS: 10.01 and NCIS: 4.01
Sep. 25th, 2012 08:03 pmThis may not be terribly coherent- I'm totally bouncing in my seat because it's NCIS Day. I totally did not want to wait until tomorrow to find out what happens, so we're watching (and blogging) live. Commercials and all.
NCIS:
- Head count time- Ducky (at the moment), Jimmy, Abby, Gibbs, Vance...
- Okay, I do not give a damn if SecNav is okay. Where's the rest of Team Gibbs?
- Ziva and Tony, okay. Stuck, but basically unharmed.
- Um, guys. You've obviously got a cell signal, if Eli can get ahold of Ziva. Think maybe calling someone would maybe get you out of the elevator faster?
- And McGee. I can breathe now. Gibbs can't, but I'm good.
- Or, I was good. McGee!
- Oh, Ducky.
- So, we're all basically okay. Good, good.
- Honestly, if Tony or Ziva had to stuck in an elevator, they really are the best people to be stuck together with. If that makes sense.
- Thank you, Fornell, for taking care of Gibbs. You are a good friend, really.
- Did I mention last spring that I'm adoring Richard Schiff in this role? Because I am.
- Huh. Lorraine's got some teeth. But yeah, he's not in there, guys.
- Oh. Shit.
- Gibbs, I don't know about this plan. I'm with Leon.
- Leon, honey, you didn't know there was a bomb in the car. Your job to know or not. Not your fault.
- Ah. Cranky!Abby has made an appearance. This bodes well for no-one. Ziva, however, is the right person for this job.
- Oh, good point, Tony. Where the hell is Ryan, anyhow?
- Dearing has a point. He really doesn't have anything left to lose, and he's actually more dangerous now.
- Yeah, that SWAT team...I don't like their chances.
- Okay, seriously, guys, it's only 8:29, Dearing was NOT in that car.
- Jimmy needs a nap. Badly. Except he's usually like that, so maybe not.
- I don't know, guys. Too easy. And I don't think 50% match would hold up as an actual ID.
- Have I mentioned lately that I'm really tired of living in a swing state? I think that was political commercial #17 in the last half hour. November 6th cannot come soon enough. Anyway.
- So, how long has it been when Ducky comes to the Navy Yard? This is looking like a couple weeks later? (I may have missed a screen title- my mom was telling me the Stupid of the Day at her facility during the commercial break)
- Brother's remains would be a 50% match, no?
- You go, Duck. You tell your stories.
- Did I, or did I not tell you that Dearing was still alive? Yes, yes, I did.
- So, what does Dearing have on his sister-in-law, I wonder.
- Um, guys? You think maybe that you don't want to be in this cabin just now? Like, maybe it's rigged to blow?
- Nice! No sarcasm at all- I love the detail there with the Prohibition tunnel.
- New boat? I've kind of missed the boat.
- *rolls eyes at Leon's fastidiousness*
- Gibbs one on one with Dearing? I am not sure this is a good idea for Gibbs. I mean, yeah, he's gonna get the job done, but Gibbs has been flirting with stability here, and this is going to derail that.
- This is also not going to be good for the kids. Although I love that McGee tried to offer company and Ziva was bitchy about it. And that Tony is clearly intending to step up here.
- Oh. Um. Rule 9, yes. I see. Well, then.
Well, alrighty then. That was...unexpected, although, it probably should not have been. And now on to the second half of our double feature....
LA:
- One night in jail, not so bad. He'd probably have wanted to climb the walls, but he could deal.
- G. Come ON. Of course Sam was going to be there.
- Oh. We're actually going to get angry here. On both sides. Interesting. We are not, however, surprised that G went into Flight Mode.
- Well, at least the blurred face makes it possible for G to still go undercover. Maybe?
- I wonder exactly what Granger told Vance. It's not like Vance doesn't know G. I don't imagine anything he said was surprising to Leon. I also wonder if Granger mentioned the manipulation that was going on from all sides. G's responsible for his actions, and I'm sure he'd be the first to say so, but I'm not sure he was fully conscious of everything that went into his decision making.
- I'm not sure running away is going to help anything, Henrietta. At the minimum, I certainly hope you at least left G a message.
- I don't think you can meet G's price, Iranian guy whose name I'm not sure how to spell. He's got one, but it's not monetary.
- Kasuf!
- Oh, Hetty. I don't think you ever say anything you don't mean to say. So, why did you want to bring G to this guy's attention?
- Ha! Hi Sam. Are you gonna yell at Hetty now? Oh. No. Damn.
- Yeah, Sam's not going to let this go. He's constitutionally incapable of leaving G out in the cold on his own. If the guy had hair, he'd be tearing it out right about now.
- G. What are you doing? Did you just...actually commit treason? This does not sound like a good idea. You're still not really thinking are you? Or have you slipped over into all you can do is think and you do actually know what you're doing? I...can't tell.
- Well, that's a show of confidence there, Sam.
- So, G maybe does have an actual plan here?
- Deeks, honey, Sam's gotta mother hen someone right now. I know it's annoying, but he can't get at G right now, so you guys are the next best thing. You're doing a good job of rolling with it. Keep it up.
- I love Kensi. I so totally love Kensi undercover.
- The fact that Kensi can run in those boots astounds me. I don't think I could even walk in them.
- Hey, it's a shootout! Except this one didn't start with someone yelling "Federal Agents".
- The LAPD is not going to find G. I'm not sure Kensi or Deeks could find G right now. Sam might be able to find G, but I don't think I'd put money on it. How exactly the Iranians found G, I am not sure. Because if G doesn't want to be found, he's perfectly capable of making that happen.
- "There's no other truth." Well, that's an interesting statement out of G.
- I may have been thinking about this show too long. Because part of me is going, "oh, shit, no, that's not going to help At All", but the other part of me is going, "Yeah, okay, this is the plan, Hetty's part of it, G's got it under control." The thing is, I know which part I suspect is the correct answer, but it's not the part that the story wants me to think is the correct answer. The cognitive dissonance is...interesting. I'm not sure which is the more entertaining way to approach things, here.
- Wha...oh...my. Okay, I did not see that one coming.
Huh. I don't know what I think about that. It all makes sense, it fits together. But I don't know if I like it.

Date: 2012-09-26 02:06 am (UTC)THIS IS GOING TO BE SO MUCH FUN IN SALT!!!!!!! I CANNOT WAIT!!!!! (Because half the fun of watching LA episodes these days is figuring out where to insert Tori for maximum amusement. That's pretty much our writing process.)
Seriously, Sam's smirk at the beginning gave away that they were playing something, but I did not see that coming AT ALL. And I usually pick these things up.
*flails*
(I was not impressed by DC though. Plot holes the size of a Mack truck, and srsly, how many dead FBI agents do we need in one episode before they bother with a little thing called a "bomb squad" when dealing with a notorious bomber? Oh wait, that's right, they NEVER call the damn bomb squad.)

Date: 2012-09-26 02:16 am (UTC)And yes, DC had plot holes galore. I was mostly watching because I needed the head count. Once I had that, I was less interested. Although, if they're promising me more Tony and Ziva interaction, which certain things seemed to be hinting at, they may get me to stick around for that. I think they'd make a terrible couple, but I think they make very good friends.

Date: 2012-09-26 02:22 am (UTC)We're going to have to seriously rework a lot of what we'd been planning for Salt. I mean, we knew we might have to (this is part of why we haven't even started writing chapter 8 yet, because we needed more canon), but we weren't expecting it to be on this scale. But OH, I am so, so, so excited.
(It's funny, because there were a couple of places where, if it had been DC, I would have accused the show of sloppy writing, but for LA, I just assumed it was all part of a bigger plan. Like the briefcase. I knew there was something going on there. But I was also very impressed with Kensi's skills in those heels and that skirt.)

Date: 2012-09-26 02:28 am (UTC)I don't, however, think most of what happened in Sans Voir was feigned. The emotional impact of that was still real, I think. It's just the outcome was different than we expected it to be.

Date: 2012-09-26 01:40 pm (UTC)Whereas her problem with airplanes is that they're dry (dryer than the Sahara, by far; true facts) and that she can't get out. Plus they're made of metal. It's almost as bad as spaceships, and spaceships are extremely bad.

Date: 2012-09-26 03:12 pm (UTC)Dustin would probably argue that airplanes are worse than popcorn, but he can understand why the rest of his team might think differently.
