Well, that's interesting
Oct. 1st, 2012 05:40 pmNetflix streaming does not have Leverage. Or NCIS or NCIS:LA. It does, however, have SeaQuest DSV. I had completely forgotten the set-up/milieu of this show, although I remember the characters pretty well. I'll have to see if it holds up to time. So far, so good, but I'm a little giggly at having found it.
Now I'll have to see if Space: Above and Beyond snuck in there, too...

Date: 2012-10-01 11:19 pm (UTC)Well, be warned, s2 doesn't hold up to childhood memories, and s3 is... well, s3 was never all that good. But s1 is still <3 <3 <3. Lucas and Bridger and Darwin and Katie and Ben and Jonathan and Kristin and Miguel and Tim!!!! They are all wonderful!!!! I love them to itty bitty teeny tiny little pieces!
I mean, Tony is still awesome, but Dagwood is not nearly as awesome as he seemed as a kid, and Brody isn't horrible and Lonnie is..... ugh, well, I can't stand Lonnie, and you really don't want to get me started on Wendy. Or Hudson. Yeah, don't get me started on Hudson, either. (I can at least find ways to make Hudson vaguely redeemable; Wendy, not so much.)
(And then once you've watched some if it again, you can go read my sQ fic!!!!! *grins*)

Date: 2012-10-02 01:16 am (UTC)I do remember S3 being somewhat...awful, so I do at least know what to expect there. Chances are, I'll watch it anyway, because I'm a completeist like that. But it was just so funny to be scrolling through the SF offerings and all of a sudden seeing SeaQuest DSV. It was like, "wait, what?"

Date: 2012-10-02 01:23 am (UTC)sQ has actually been on Netflix for a while now. I've got the DVDs too (s3 was never put out on DVD, but I got s1 and s2 almost right after they were released).
The end of s2 is really, really bad. Like, the last three episodes, with the whole Hyperion thing and the aliens and... yeah, even Mark Hamill can't save that one. And then there's the whole "ten years later" thing that leads into s3. There are some good concepts in s3, but the execution is so horrible (ugh, Hudson is such an asshole, and there's so much character assassination going around, and then the really horrible time travel episode, and just.... Bridger, you are such a dickwad to Lucas for half that season....)
(You can see I am clearly very invested in sQ.)

Date: 2012-10-02 01:34 am (UTC)I've become spoiled, though; watching NCIS and LA when they air means having to actually sit through commercials. And remember to actually turn the TV on, hah....
