miss_lucy21Part of my extended family descended upon our house today for Family Thanksgiving. My cousin brought her little girls (one is 2 and the other is 9 months) and they were perfectly behaved, absolutely adorable and funny all in one. My aunt and uncle (parents of the cousin who came) also came. We watched the Ohio State-Michigan game (aka, The Game, around here) and employed all of our good luck charms to ensure an OSU victory. This means that Ohio State had a perfect, 12-0 season, which is really exciting around here (they are not eligible to go to a post-season game, including the Big Ten championship or a bowl game, due to NCAA sanctions. It's just for this year, though, so watch out next year!). My immediate family (myself included) are pretty big football fans, if I haven't mentioned.
We also ate All The Food. My chili turned out great, my brownies are excellent. The potato bites weren't bad (everyone else thought they were really good. I think I should have browned up the potatoes a little before adding the cheese and bacon). My aunt brought some pumpkin torte thing that involved pumpkin pie filling and cake mix, and it was rather good. Of course, we cooked as though there were going to be 15 people here, not 6 adults and two kids under 3, so we'll be eating chili for the next couple of days (it's already been frozen and reheated, so we can't put it back in the freezer). It's gotten cold here, though, just today, so that's not necessarily a bad thing. It even snowed some today, although, it didn't stick around.
But all in all, a pretty good day. Now, naptime.
