Catching up
Dec. 4th, 2012 03:33 pmI am semi-caught up with NCIS:LA. I have 2 eps to go. No real recaps/reviews, because I was multitasking by knitting Christmas presents while watching, so I couldn't take notes. But, I've got a couple things, in no particular order.
- These people still crack me up and I still kinda love them.
- Deeks and the poodle was amusing.
- The pushup contest was predictable, but still funny.
- I love how G and Sam make people nervous just by standing in a room. And how they had to be told they were doing it.
- Nell and Eric's not quite flirting is still getting a little wearing.
- The obvious product placement is not annoying me as much as such things usually do. I suspect it's because they're actually using the products when we see them.
- G's face lighting up when he talked about the decoder ring he had as a kid was the most adorable thing. He doesn't get happy about things that often. But I can totally see a little G figuring out how the decoder ring worked and leaving coded messages all over town (and then he probably took it apart, because I suspect G took apart every toy he ever had. I'm sure many of his various foster parents were highly annoyed by that propensity and thought he was breaking his toys to be defiant, but really, he just wanted to see how they worked).
- Sam plus CIA is interesting.
- It's still a little bit amazing to see G pushing the team concept when Sam wasn't letting him in on the plan. See, Sam, he was listening to you all those times you got in his face about letting you in on things because you're a team. Doesn't mean that he's not going to still keep your secrets until he can't (and Kensi was right to push back on that one and G was right to give it up- they were going to figure it out anyhow, if they had ten minutes to themselves to think), but he understands team now. He didn't used to, back in S1.
- Granger has definitely won me over. The look on his face when he realized he was getting played by Sam and G yet again was priceless. But showing up and telling Sam that he had Sam's back, well, that may just have bought him the rest of G and Sam's trust.
- Quinn explains a lot. Hell of a lot. Nice to get a good strong Sam story.
