Things I Have Done This Week

miss_lucy211) Watched Ari the cat be severely freaked out by my brother and sister-in-law's dogs. Seriously, I've seen the cat nervous and I've seen him scared by something, but I've never heard him hiss and yowl before. He's been mostly in hiding since Sunday evening. He'd gotten brave enough to venture out into the same room with the dogs yesterday and then the larger dog decided it was time to play Chase (the dogs live with two cats and they play together all the time. They do not understand why Ari doesn't want to play) and that was the end of that. Poor buddy.
2) Eaten a lot of really good cookies. We're good cookie makers around here.
3) Done the whole Christmas presents thing. The presents I gave (the handwarmers I posted the other day for my brother and SIL, a jigsaw puzzle for my mom and tickets to an Ohio State basketball game for my dad) were very well received and made people happy. I got a new bread machine(!), a nice scarf, a new knitting book, and seasons 1 and 2 of NCIS:LA on DVD. Very satisfying.
4) Gone to see The Hobbit again, because my brother and SIL hadn't seen it yet. It was equally good the second time around.
5) Watched Winter Storm Euclid drop about a half inch of ice and 5-6 inches of snow on us, which cancelled Family Christmas, as parts of the state were under Blizzard Warnings and other parts (including mine) were under Snow Emergency levels that meant that civilians weren't allowed out on the roads. This is unfortunate, but honestly, I'm okay with it, because while I do love my family, having 20 (mostly very extroverted) people in my house at one time is a little overwhelming.
Today, we are planning an expedition to the gym and then to the World of Beer that recently opened across the street from the gym. I don't drink, so I'm a little less fascinated by the World of Beer, but it's all good. I'm not sure what we've got planned for tomorrow, but I'm thinking I may make pizza for dinner (I'm getting tired of ham) to inaugurate the bread machine's dough function. So, not such a bad holiday week after all.
