3 things make a thing

miss_lucy21- I feel like I am breathing through wet cement. I am sure I do not have the flu, because I would actually be sicker than I am right now. But I do definitely have the crud. I had hoped that the working out would prevent this sort of crap, but apparently chronic sinusitis and inhaled steroids trumps whatever immune system benefit I get from working out. And yeah, okay, being severely deficient in Vitamin D is probably not helping there, either, but still. This may be predictable, given that it happens every few months, but my GOD, it's annoying. I'm currently hoping this is the worst that it gets, because I'm not coughing too, too horribly and I'm not wheezing, and if that remains the case and I keep lying low for another few days (it's stupid cold here- almost too cold for me to be out even if I'm not sick), I might be able to get away without the customary 21 days of antibiotics. That would be good.
- I did watch President Obama's inauguration today. I thought his speech was great, that the invocation was lovely and I really liked Richard Blanco's poem. It was a good Inauguration.
- The only other thing I really managed to do today was make dinner, which turned out better than I thought it might. We do this thing with the crockpot with salsa and chicken breasts, but we just got a new crockpot (the crock in the old one cracked, so it was no good) and it's bigger than the old one. So when I went to open the crockpot to shred the chicken up, it did not look right. It didn't look like enough and it looked like too much salsa (it may have been not enough chicken- I think I usually use 2 full breasts and this was only 3 half breasts, but that's what had been defrosted in the fridge, so that's what I used), so I threw in a couple of cans of beans and a can of corn and a chopped up pepper, so it was more like chili with chicken instead of salsa chicken (which we use as burrito filling, usually). I wasn't exactly thinking all that clearly while I was doing this (I should probably not have been chopping up vegetables, if nothing else. I was wandering around like I was drunk. Which I wasn't, just not very awake), so I wasn't sure it would really turn out, but it did. So, apparently, even half awake, I can come up with something resembling chili. Go me.
