miss_lucy21I've been ignoring/fighting off the crud for about 2 weeks now. For the most part, it's not bad- not nearly so bad as when I got sick in January. That was sick-sick. This is, oh, maybe two-three levels beyond normal acceptable level of congestion (chronic sinusitis + extremely horrid allergies= constant congestion in some manner). Not much pain, not super-fatigue, just some fatigue, and honestly, it's been hard to tell if it's adjustment-to-new fatigue or sick-fatigue. I'm coughing up interestingly colored gunk, but not constantly, and I'm not having trouble with the stairs to my office, so my lungs are more-or-less normal, even despite the coughing (it's 2 flights of not terribly steep stairs. But a good barometer of how my lungs are operating). And I don't feel awful, just kinda tired and slightly more than mildly annoyed. Basically, it's low-level, can probably fight it off on my own if I behave.
Until I woke up this morning and went..."no". Fortunately, it's Sunday. Of course, I had things to go to today, but the morning things did not happen and it's looking like the afternoon/evening things aren't going to happen either. I took meth-Sudafed and some guifenesin (Mucinex) and an extra hit of my Advair and went back to bed with Life of Pi and slept for a few more hours. I woke up feeling stoned and wobbly (my metabolism doesn't really agree with psuedophedrine. Non-drowsy, my ass), but somewhat better. I feel somewhat less wobbly now (and probably ought to take some more meds, but eh) and I'm pretty sure I'll be more or less fine in the morning (or at least back to the status quo of the last week or so). But yeah, my immune system is now on notice. If this isn't cleared up substantially by Friday, the doctor gets a call for the antibiotics. Because that'll be about 3 weeks and that's a little long, even for my under-powered immune system.
