Lyrics Game
Mar. 3rd, 2013 06:29 pmSince I'm mostly good for sitting still at the moment, I figured I'd put this together today.
Rules:
1) These are 25 first lines of songs pulled from random from my collection
2) I put iTunes on shuffle and hit next once I got the line I needed. I skipped anything not in English, anything instrumental (obviously) and some of my more esoteric/indie/religious music because that's not entirely fair. When the first line of the song included the title, I moved to the next song in the library by the same artist until I found one that didn't (this was surprisingly hard in some cases)
3) You get the first line tonight. Anything that doesn't get a correct answer by Tuesday morning will get the second line added. If it still doesn't have a correct answer by Thursday night, I'll give the answers (I reserve the right to move up the timeline, but given the schedule I'm working with, that's probably not going to change).
4)There are one or two songs that I suspect may be covers, so if you get the title on one of those, but not the artist I have, I'll still give you credit. I skipped things that I knew for a fact were covers, but there's at least one where I wasn't sure.
5)To make my life easier, I'm turning off comments on LJ just this once. Sorry, LJ folks! I have more frequent commenters on DW and I'm low on the spoons to keep track of this in two places. You can comment at DW with Open ID, or I'll make sure anonymous commenting is enabled and you can comment that way and stick your name in the comment.
6) Oh, and NO GOOGLING!! That's cheating! :o)
Some hints:
1) There are no repeat artists.
2) most prevalent musical influences of me: 90's alternative, 21st century indie and 70s rock/folk

Date: 2013-03-03 11:40 pm (UTC)10 is not the most common song one would know by that particular artist. But I don't think it's the most unusual one from that one, either.
ETA: It is possible that I've used that line in a fic. Well, no, it's likely. If that helps.
