Hay Fever =/= My Allergies
Apr. 12th, 2013 10:10 pmThis is not the same thing as someone whose spring allergies present as a runny nose, sneezing and maybe itchy eyes. This is systemic. It's congestion and post nasal drip and sinus swelling/pain/pressure, itchy skin and eyes, sneezing and coughing/wheezing and fatigue. And that's with a daily dose of prescription strength antihistamines.
We've reached peak allergy season, aka the 4-6 weeks of the year of misery, here in Central Ohio. The weather can't make up its mind, which also doesn't help the chronic sinusitis. And this is only the beginning- it'll get worse. I'm managing to be operating at pretty close to full capacity at work so far, but that will probably not last. But yeah, my plan for the weekend is Extreme Self Care. Which tomorrow will probably look like being curled up in bed with some books. There is very little that must be done this weekend and it can all happen Sunday. I need to kill the sleep debt to stay functional next week, so that's priority one.
But! I am officially no longer a contractor. I will be a full time employee with benefits when I walk into work on Monday. It's still a bit unbelievable when I'm not at work (when I'm at work, I don't have time to be amazed), but I imagine it'll sink in when I get my first paycheck on the 30th.
