I can't with this week

miss_lucy211. The pollen levels have jumped from negligible, but irritating to massive levels. My eyes hurt, my voice is shot, I can't breathe well enough to climb stairs, let alone swim/work out. And if that was not bad enough, my period is this week. At least it's following a predictable schedule the past couple months that I've been tracking? (It doesn't without intervention and even that's not a guarantee. It really never has, though, really. It'll do one thing for awhile, then switch to another pattern and then go on to another).So I'm doubly exhausted.
2. Work is kicking my tail this week. I've gone in early and stayed late every day this week. Ironically, this is the first week I'm an official full time salaried employee and therefore no longer get overtime. But, I do get health insurance and paid a hell of a lot more than I did as a contractor, so I'm not going to complain.
3. Boston. Oh, Boston. All of my people there are okay. One of them was actually very close to the explosions (she was volunteering at the marathon, but she was at the clothing check beyond the finish line. So, close enough to hear, but not line of sight. She helped corral people and evacuate them). But yeah.
Mom and I were in the car tonight discussing the fact that they have a suspect and may have made an arrest.
Me: I guarantee this is domestic terrorism. If it were foreign, someone would have claimed it.
Mom: Yeah.
Me: I predict this is a disaffected white guy between the ages of 25 and 40.
Mom: I was thinking, because it was the Marathon and because it was a dirty bomb-
Me (interrupting): Not a dirty bomb. No nuclear material.
Mom: No, right. What did I mean? With the nails and stuff?
Me: IED.
Mom: Right, an IED. I was thinking maybe it was someone who lost their leg or something in, like, Afghanistan and can't run anymore, so they set the bomb because of that.
Me: Well, if this was an episode of Criminal Minds, that would probably be true.
[end possibly tasteless comment]
4. I am attempting to not get totally neurotic about a business trip I'm going on in oh, my God, 2 weeks. It's a giant team trip, with all the people from all over the country. I have to wear business attire (read: suits) for it. I have two of them, it's a three day trip. But...I've got a dress that maybe could qualify with a jacket. But I don't know. And new people and, and. Fortunately, I'm a good flyer (I mostly just fall asleep, since I can't read on planes. I get motion sick if I do). But this is my first big business trip ever.
Okay, I'm tired. I think I may have digested dinner enough. I'll watch the end of this inning and then go to bed.
