Apr. 27th, 2013 11:47 amWatching the NCIS:LA episode with the Chechen terrorists today is a little...um. At the time it aired (in, uh, January. No, I haven't seen half the season yet), I wouldn't have blinked. Hell, three weeks ago, I wouldn't have. But now it seems a little...yeah.
However, catching up with the LA team is probably a good idea today. I feel a little...unreal. Nothing really seems solid right now, it all feels very temporary. And the thing is, it's not. This job is real. This is what life looks like right now. But there's this cognitive dissonance that I can't track down and I can't figure out and it's kind of upsetting.
So comfort tv watching is probably my best bet for today. Combined with maybe a field trip to the craft store later.
ETA: I'm dubbing that episode "G hasn't gone undercover in awhile...maybe he ought to do that". Because near as I can tell, that was the whole purpose there. And who wants to bet that figuring out to write left handed has now become one of G's Random Nighttime Activities that he does instead of sleeping, if he hasn't already done that? It takes practice, but some people can teach themselves to write reasonably well with their non-dominant hand. I did, because I jacked my right hand up pretty badly when I was 12-13 and it didn't heal quite right, so I needed to be able to use my left hand periodically for most of the rest of my school career. I mostly write right handed now, because it's faster, but I do a lot of other things left handed and I can mouse with either hand and I switch off pretty regularly. G's probably flexible enough to do it.
