miss_lucy21I have made it through the first holiday. One down, two to go (I count New Year's, because it throws off my routine and yes, I'm almost 34 years old, but I do not like my routine being disrupted, thank you. I've just mostly grown out of throwing fits about it).
We had a mostly good time yesterday when my family came for Family Thanksgiving. My older aunt and uncle are great and I love seeing them, and I love my cousin and her little girls (they're almost 2 and 4). My mom's younger sister is flaky, but lovely. She, however, has horrible taste in men and I really do not like her husband (2nd husband, so I don't consider him my uncle. Actually, I don't consider her first husband my uncle either, because he's an abusive, controlling bastard and I'm just as happy to never see him again). He's very insecure and loud about it, and he also always needs to be right. I'm hoping it's just that they've only been married for a year, and this is the first year he's really done the rounds of family events (we had a couple weddings this year, in addition to the usual get-togethers on Memorial Day and the upcoming winter holidays). I'm hoping he chills out. I'm probably hoping in vain.
Thanksgiving is easier than Christmas.
