Today was a very rough day.

It started with me coming millimeters from passing out during a fasting blood draw. Like, black sparklies around the edge of my vision and not being able to hear anymore. I was totally aware, which probably made it even more unnerving. I've had this happen before- I've been blacklisted from donating blood because the one time I did, I almost passed out and when they got my feet up and I said I wanted to keep going, it took twice as long as it should have done because my blood pressure was too low. But it hasn't happened in years- maybe as long as 10. It probably would have been okay if it hadn't been fasting. I'm pretty sure that blood glucose reading is either going to be extremely low or artificially high because my body was doing it's damnedest to keep me conscious (we did get the blood draw done. I sure as hell was not going to come back tomorrow. We just did it with me laying down). I'm not too concerned about that one- I've got a history of low normal blood sugar, so if it's high, it'll clearly be an anomaly, and honestly, if I need to prove that it was a fluke, there's probably a dozen glucose testing kits in this house.

Well, then I had to go home and change because I was sopping wet from having gone all diaphoretic. Which made me even later to work than I'd planned (lab opened at 8. I figured I'd be out of there by 8:15 at the latest, if I had to wait, because it really doesn't take more than a minute or two to do a blood draw with one tube. 5-10 minutes to hit a drive through to get some food in me, and I'd be at work by 9).

And then I spent my day dealing with regulatory notices and people who were not making sense and who were not LISTENING TO THE WORDS COMING OUT OF MY MOUTH. All the while feeling like crap, because starting your day out with your autonomic nervous system just going haywire doesn't really set you up for feeling well the rest of the day.

However, the highlight of my day was going to tutoring, where the kids were not terribly enthusiastic about doing homework, but they were kind of glad to see me.

And now I am going to go to bed and hope I feel like like I've been hit by a truck when I wake up.
