Case-Fic Rambling/Progress
May. 24th, 2012 02:19 pmI am having a "Dear God, I do not want to write another cover letter" moment, so I'm procrastinating by watching baseball and fiddling with the Case-Fic (which needs a name, or at least a working title. Nothing is forthcoming yet, though). I do have an outline, now. And about 8700 words in a brain-dump file, maybe half of which are usable. Ok, maybe 2/3rds of them are usable. It would be more helpful if they were consecutive words, but no, they're mostly a whole bunch of disconnected scenes.
I do have what looks like about half of chapter 1 done, though. Maybe. I'm not sure where chapter 1 ends, so it could be closer to three-quarters of chapter 1 or closer to one-third of chapter 1. Might be my next goal should be finishing chapter 1 and then maybe the rest of it will start coming together. Except I keep thinking of conversations and scenes that come much, much later in the story. So I write them down and go back to chapter 1. At this rate, the last chapter is going to get written before the first chapter, which is probably fine, but it would be nice to know how they get to the last chapter. Heck, I'd just like to know how they get out of chapter 1 at this point...
[Oh, hey, my team won the baseball. Cool! I suppose I have no more excuses to not write this cover letter. Sigh.]
